This is Ardbeg 17 Year Old, a heavily peated Islay single malt, in the 2002 release. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 40%. The expression was introduced in 1997, when The Glenmorangie Company bought Ardbeg from Allied Lyons.
It was assembled from stocks distilled before the distillery was mothballed in 1981, and at the time it was the oldest entry-level official bottling in Scotch whisky. Ardbeg had made very little whisky through the 1980s and 1990s, so the aged stock only stretched to 2004, when the 17 Year Old was discontinued.
