A smoky 25-year-old single malt from Ardbeg on Islay, in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV. It aged for a quarter of a century and is full-bodied, powerful and complex.
The nose combines smoked cream, peppermint and toffee with fennel and pine resin, distant earthy bonfires, herbal and fruity notes of banana and tropical fruit, and candle wax. The palate is vibrant and peppery, with sherbet lemon sweetness, hints of carbolic soap and tar, creamy toffee, aniseed and chilli. The finish is long and mellow, with cream, fudge and delicate antiseptic notes.
