This is Ardbeg 27 Year Old, an Islay single malt bottled at 43% ABV by Gordon & MacPhail for its Connoisseurs Choice range, with the Map Label design, in a 70cl bottle. It comes from the days of direct-fire distillation at Ardbeg. Gordon & MacPhail was founded in Elgin in 1895 by James Gordon and John Alexander MacPhail. Peat smoke, sea salt, iodine and ash lead the nose, with sherry-influenced raisin, fig and cocoa. The palate is briny and medicinal, rich and oily, with dark chocolate, espresso and treacle. The finish is long, with maritime peat, iodine, sea salt and drying ash.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
