Ardbeg – 29 Year Old 1975 Old & Rare Platinum

This is a 29 year old Ardbeg from Islay, bottled by Douglas Laing in its Old & Rare Platinum series. The whisky was filled into a single first-fill Oloroso sherry butt in March 1975 and rested in Warehouse 2 until it was drawn at natural cask strength in October 2004. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour, and 255 individually numbered bottles were released. It is described as combining Ardbeg's tarry, medicinal peat with dark fruit, polished mahogany and maritime spice.
