Ardbeg Alligator is a limited edition Islay single malt in a 70cl bottle, matured in new American white oak casks given a number 4 char. The charring of the oak is extremely fierce, and it gives the whisky a spicy bite alongside tarry coffee, barbecue and sooty aromas.
The nose offers charcoal, mulled wine and lemon icing sugar, with vanilla, yoghurt, gingerbread and apricot. The palate is creamy and zesty, with grapefruit, lemon, barbecue sauce, ginger and cocoa. The finish is sweet and creamy, with peppery peat smouldering for hours.
