A limited edition Ardbeg released during the Fèis Ìle whisky festival, in a 70cl bottle at 52.1% ABV. It was made for Ardbog Day, celebrated around the world on 1 June 2013.
The whisky was aged in a combination of bourbon casks and some Manzanilla sherry casks.
The nose is salty and briny, with dark fruit, a hint of barbecue, maple syrup, plum, orange, mint and tomato vine, and white coffee develops. The palate is big and drying at first, with salt-crusted raisins, rich nuttiness and pickled onions. The finish carries red chilli heat and paprika.
