Wee Beastie is a 5 year old single malt from Ardbeg on Islay, bottled at 47.4% ABV. It was matured in ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks.
Charcoal smoke, barbecue embers and grilled peppers lead the nose, with dry peat, black pepper, lemon zest and green apple, plus tar, sea spray and iodine. On the palate there is peat smoke, chilli and cracked black pepper, smoked bacon, charred oak and citrus peel.
The finish is long and spicy, with peat ash, salt, charcoal and a flicker of citrus oil.
