Ardbeg Wee Beastie is a 5 year old Islay single malt, matured for those five years in ex-bourbon and ex-Oloroso sherry casks.
The nose brings fresh herbal notes with creeping vanilla and pear, plenty of Turkish coffee, juicy pine resin and honey-glazed bacon in the background. The palate is suddenly explosive, with chocolate, tar oil and tar, strong eucalyptus, cough candy and a little aniseed, followed by smoked bacon and barbecued meat. The finish is long, salty and mouth-filling.
