The Untamed Grace is a ten-year-old Ardlair, the unpeated make of the Ardmore Distillery, bottled by Brave New Spirits for its WhiskyHeroes series. It was finished in a first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry hogshead and released at 56.5% in a 70cl bottle, from an edition of 211 bottles. It is not chill-filtered or coloured.
The nose has clear honey, dried fig and raisin, with cinnamon and oak. On the palate, brown sugar and dark chocolate come in a dense structure, while fresh orange offsets the sweetness. The finish is long and dry, with clove, cinnamon, a fine hint of espresso and a touch of oak.
