Ardmillan 12 Year Old Smoke Over The Craig - WhiskyHeroes (Brave New Spirits) (70cl, 59.8%)

Smoke Over The Craig is a 12-year-old blended malt from the Scottish Lowlands, bottled by Brave New Spirits in the fourth batch of its WhiskyHeroes series. The base is an Ailsa Bay malt joined with a small amount of malt from another distillery, which is why it is sold as a blended malt under the name Ardmillan. Distilled in 2013, it was finished in a first-fill Oloroso sherry barrique and bottled at 59.8%, with 213 bottles from the cask. It is natural colour and non-chill-filtered. The nose offers ripe plums, dark raisins, creamy caramel and roasted nuts, with light smoke. The palate has juicy mandarin, sweet caramel and nuttiness. The long finish brings spicy oak, liquorice sweetness and a trace of smoke.
