Ardmore – 10 Year Old 2012 (Old Particular) (48.4%)

This Ardmore is a 10 year old Highland single malt from the Old Particular range, bottled by Douglas Laing & Co as a limited edition. It was distilled in January 2012 and bottled in December 2022 at 48.4% ABV, after maturing in an ex-Laphroaig barrel. It is uncoloured and non-chill filtered, and 348 bottles were produced. The nose opens with fruity hard candy, followed by bonfire smoke and heavily charred wood. The palate is oily and thick, with soot, ash, crispy bacon and peated barley. The finish is long, with puffs of smoke, a hint of allspice and cured meat.
