This is a single cask Ardmore from the Highlands, distilled in 2013 and matured for eleven years. It was bottled by Brave New Spirits as part of The WhiskyHeroes series, at 55.9%, with natural colour and without chill-filtration.
The whisky was finished in a first fill Oloroso sherry barrique, and the cask yielded 220 bottles. The peat smoke of the Highland malt stays clearly present alongside fruity and chocolatey sherry character.
The nose shows dense peat and cedar smoke, dark earth, dried figs and dates. On the palate, peat smoke meets milk chocolate, raisins, dark berries and candied orange peel. The finish is long, dry and warming, with woodsmoke, bittersweet chocolate and pepper.
