Ardmore 12 Year Old Port Wood Finish is a Highland single malt, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is made from lightly peated malt at 12 ppm, smoked with Highland peat.
The whisky matured in ex-bourbon casks and was then finished in port casks, which gave it a full, sweet fruit character.
In the tasting notes, the nose is of sweet summer fruit, ripe strawberries and orange, with a little cinnamon, pepper and gentle smoke. The palate is sweet and full, with stewed strawberries, baked apple and honey. The finish is long and soft, with dark berries and light peat smoke, turning drier at the end.
