This is Act One of the Seyton Household Series from Ardmore, a 12 year old single malt bottled at 52.5% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Seyton is Macbeth's loyal armourer, imagined here as a fresh, herbaceous malt.
It was matured in casks that previously held heavily peated Islay whisky, which adds smokiness to Ardmore's mineral character. It is one of ten whiskies in a series inspired by the Scottish play, with artwork by illustrator Sir Quentin Blake.
Expect pine needles, woody herbs and a lingering note of chocolate mint.
