This is a peated Ardmore from Caskhound's Peatwave range, matured in an ex-Laphroaig bourbon barrel, single cask 703398. It was distilled on 10 July 2008 and bottled on 14 July 2025 at cask strength. The 239 bottles have natural colour and no chill-filtration.
The nose opens with a cool, mineral breeze of flint and menthol, then beech wood smoke, juniper, sweet hay, vanilla, white chocolate, salt and iodine. The palate pairs malt and honey with peaty smoke, then phenol, camphor, caramel cookie dough and peppery oatcakes. The finish is medium and turns drier, with soft smoke, pipe tobacco and a little ash.
