This is a 1996 Ardmore single malt, bottled by Signatory after 20 years in bourbon and ex-Islay casks. Ardmore is a Highland distillery and is typically peated. The whisky is bottled at 49.3% in a 70cl bottle.
On the nose, earthy peat sits over melon and lemon, with chocolate digestives, honey, red apple and old oak. The palate is peppery, with warming peat, robust vanilla, flamed orange peel, crushed summer berries, pine and meadow grass. The finish is light and honeyed, with gentle peat and a sprig of rosemary.
