Ardmore – 2009 10 Year Old Single Cask #2638 Balan Family Selection (70cl, 57.1%)

A single cask Ardmore from the Highlands, distilled in 2009 and bottled at 10 years old for the Balan Family Selection. It comes from a single puncheon, number 2638, and is bottled at a cask strength of 57.1% in a 70cl bottle. The whisky is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour, which is very pale. Ardmore is known for a peaty character, unusual among Highland malts, and with little influence from the wood the peat is left free to show itself as an earthy, sharp smoke.
