This is a 14 year old Ardmore single malt, made as a New Zealand exclusive in collaboration with Signatory Vintage. It was distilled in July 2010 and finished in a first-fill Oloroso hogshead. It is bottled at a cask strength of 58.4%, and with water it turns cloudy as its natural oils show.
The nose opens with old dunnage warehouses, then raspberry ripple ice cream, rocky road and chocolate-dipped raspberries, with a subtle beech wood smoke beneath. The palate is rich and dense, with tart summer fruits, charred peaches and hard creamy toffee. The finish is soft and dry, with burnt orange zest and cinnamon.
