Armorik Yeun Elez Jobic Peated Single Malt Whisky (70cl, 46%)

Armorik Yeun Elez Jobic is a peated Breton single malt from Distillerie Warenghem, in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. It is distilled from Scottish barley malt peated to 50 ppm, using the distillery's own spring water, and matured in ex-bourbon casks. The name joins the Breton moor Yeun Elez with Jobic, a figure from legend who leads a black dog, said to hold a restless soul, to the moor, regarded as a gateway to the underworld. The nose is medicinal peat with camphor, clove, banana, stewed peach and pastry cream. The palate is smoky with fresh citrus, round, with a hint of salt. The finish is long, iodine-like and spicy, ending on warm wood smoke.
