Arran – 15 Years Rare Batch French Oak Argonne Cask Strength (70cl)

This is a 15-year-old single malt from the Isle of Arran Distillery, bottled at cask strength in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour, and 3,060 bottles were filled. The whisky matured entirely in French oak casks from the Argonne forest in north-eastern France. The casks had previously held red wine from a traditional grower near the village of Ay. The nose is soft cedar and oak with sandalwood and frankincense, set against fresh white grapes, pink lady apple and orange blossom. On the palate it is oily and lively, with honeyed fruit, vanilla and orange cake, nutmeg, warm brioche and mango purée. The finish brings warm spices, oak tannins and mandarin liqueur.
