Arran – 18 Year Old (70cl, 46%)

This is an 18 year old single malt from the Arran distillery at Lochranza on the Isle of Arran, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is part of the distillery's core range. Most of the whisky matures in first-fill and refill sherry casks made from European and American oak. It is bottled non-chill-filtered and with natural colour. The nose offers baked peaches, caramelised citrus, toasted oak, sweet syrup, roasted almonds and a hint of cinnamon. The palate is full and oily, with dark chocolate, brown sugar, candied ginger and juicy orange, plus a touch of star anise. The finish is long and warming, sweet and spicy, with ripe fruit and fine woods.
