Arran – 25 Years Old 2021 (70cl, 46%)

This is the 2021 edition of the 25 year old single malt from the Isle of Arran Distillery at Lochranza, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle and presented in a wooden box. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. The whisky matured in ex-sherry and ex-bourbon casks, with 35% coming from an ex-sherry cask and 65% from an ex-bourbon cask. The nose is rich oak with gentle nutmeg, baked figs, sultanas and black cherries. On the palate are fruit cake with toasted almonds and cinnamon, orange and mandarin, Manuka honey, muscovado sugar, baked apricots and white pepper. The finish is creamy and spicy, with dark chocolate, walnuts and dark fruit compote.
