Arran – 25 Years Old (70cl, 46%)

This is a 25 year old single malt from the Arran distillery, bottled by the distillery in September 2022 at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in a mix of bourbon barrels and sherry casks from 1995, then finished for a year in sherry hogsheads. The colour is a rich amber. The nose combines rich oak and gentle nutmeg with baked figs, sultanas and black cherries. On the palate come fruit cake, toasted almonds, cinnamon, orange and mandarin, manuka honey, muscovado sugar, baked apricots and a note of white pepper. The finish is creamy and spicy, with dark chocolate, walnuts and a compote of dark fruits.
