This Arran single malt, made on the Isle of Arran, is finished in casks that previously held Italian Amarone wine. Red fruit character runs alongside the malt.
The nose opens with stewed fruit, tart cranberries and a gentle vinous warmth. The palate has red berry compote, dark chocolate and soft spice, with a rounded honeyed sweetness. The finish is smooth, with ripe plum, cocoa and a touch of oak dryness.
