Arran Machrie Moor 10 Year Old is a peated single malt from the Lochranza Distillery on the Isle of Arran, in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV. It is not chill filtered and is of natural colour.
The whisky spent all ten years in first-fill bourbon barrels. The barley is malted to about 20 ppm phenol, adding gentle smoke to Arran's fresh, fruity spirit. The name comes from a peat bog on the island's west coast.
The nose has dry, clean maritime smoke, lemon zest, green apple and honeyed vanilla. The palate is oily, with toasted brioche, barley sugar, mild ash, tropical fruit and cinnamon. The finish is medium to long, with dry coastal minerality.
