Arran – Machrie Moor Cask Strength

Arran Machrie Moor Cask Strength is a peated, cask strength single malt from the Arran distillery. The peated malt has been distilled every year since 2004, and the cask strength edition has been part of the distillery's standard range since 2018. The name comes from Machrie Moor, a windswept peat moor on the west coast of the Isle of Arran, scattered with Bronze Age standing stones and stone circles. The nose has woody smoke, clear peat and fresh pineapple, then pear and lime. With water the palate turns fruity, with strawberry jam on freshly baked bread and peat smoke behind. The finish is long, with vanilla, coconut and maritime notes.
