Arran – Machrie Moor Cask Strength Peated Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 56.2%)

This is a peated single malt from the Lochranza distillery on the Isle of Arran, in a 70cl bottle at a cask strength of 56.2%. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring. It pairs the fresh house character of Arran with a touch of peat smoke and earthiness, and it is named after the windswept peat moor on the island's west coast, where Bronze Age stone circles stand. The nose is citrus over a background of peat, with a hint of smoke. On the palate it is robust, with Arran's orchard fruit above toasted brioche and red berries. The finish brings citrus, smoke, chocolate, vanilla and coconut.
