Arran – Sassicaia Wine Cask Finish (70cl, 55%)

This is a limited edition Arran single malt, released in 2008 at 55%. It spent 8 years in traditional oak casks before moving for 9 months into Sassicaia wine casks. The finishing casks came from Tuscany, where Isle of Arran Distillers sourced them directly from the producers. Sassicaia is aged for 24 months in 225 litre French oak barriques, so these are the casks that held the wine before the whisky.
