Arran – The Bothy Quarter Cask (70cl, 56%)

This is a cask strength Arran single malt bottled at 56% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is bottled without chill-filtration and without added colouring. The whisky spent its first seven years in first-fill ex-bourbon casks. It then moved into 125 litre quarter casks of American oak for a further two years, which brings the spirit into closer contact with the wood and speeds up maturation. Small casks were once common in the island's whisky trade, as they were easier to handle and carry, and this core range revives that tradition. The result combines power and finesse, with rich vanilla sweetness and strong peppery spice.
