Asagi Madara 8 Year Old Blended Japanese Whisky 2020 Limited Release (70cl, 48%)

Asagi Madara is an 8 year old blended Japanese whisky, released in 2020 to mark the completion of renovation and expansion work at the Shinshu Distillery in September of that year. It is bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle. The malt part was distilled in the distillery's first pot still and blended with locally produced grain whisky, with both matured for at least 8 years. The name comes from a butterfly that visits Miyada Village, near the distillery, every September, drawn here by artist Tomoko Nakanoma. The aroma and taste are described as refreshing, recalling the forest at the foot of the Central Alps that surrounds the distillery.
