Auchentoshan – 18 Years Old (70cl, 43%)

This is an 18 year old Lowland single malt from Auchentoshan, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is triple distilled and was matured in American bourbon casks. The colour is deep gold, like summer barley. The nose has fresh tobacco leaf, then a gentle sweetness with caramelised sugar, green tea and roasted almonds. On the palate it is spicy and refreshing, opening with floral freshness and a note of sweet barley sugar before tangerine appears. The finish is long, well balanced and invigorating.
