A 29 year old Lowland single malt from Auchentoshan, distilled in 1988 and bottled at 49.7% ABV in a 70cl bottle, presented in a gift box. It is a limited release, triple distilled and of natural dark colour.
The whisky matured in Spanish oak casks and was then finished in Pedro Ximenez sherry.
The nose is sweet and oily, with stewed plum, a little balsamic, red berries, nectarines, cherry liqueur, cream toffee, rose petals, cinnamon and oak tannins. On the palate come raisins, plums, caramelised figs, dark chocolate and orange. The finish is long and sweet, with orange, chestnut and sultanas.
