Aultmore – 12 Year Old Speyside Single Malt (70cl, 46%)

A 12 year old Speyside single malt Scotch whisky from Aultmore, bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle and non-chill filtered. Aultmore takes its water from the Auchinderran burn. The distillery is owned by Dewar's, part of Bacardi, and usually produces whisky for blends, so its own single malt range is a smaller part of its output. This 12 year old sits in that range alongside 21 and 25 year old expressions. The nose brings malt, banana, dried fruit and vanilla with waxy citrus peel and a buttery undertone. On the palate there is grassy hay, malt and dried fruit, with chocolate, banana bread and honey. The finish is medium, with banana bread, a little sweetness and hay.
