A 2006 Aultmore single malt, matured for 13 years in first fill sherry casks and bottled at 48% by the French bottler La Maison du Whisky for its Artist Collective series. The sherry wood is behind its colour.
The nose is sweet, with apricots, almonds, quince, vanilla, toffee and nectarine, followed by black cherry, cocoa, ginger, heather honey and pine needles. On the palate come lime blossom, lemon verbena, apricot and orange zest, developing into malted barley, beeswax, hay and dark chocolate, with exotic fruits lingering in the finish.
