Aultmore – 13 Years Old 2009 Connoisseurs Choice (Gordon & MacPhail) (70cl, 45%)

An independent bottling of Aultmore single malt by Gordon & MacPhail, from its Connoisseurs Choice range. It was distilled in 2009 and bottled in July 2023 at 13 years old, at 45% in a 70cl bottle. The whisky matured in a refill bourbon barrel and then spent three years in St Joseph wine casks from France's Rhone. The outturn was 2,034 bottles. The nose combines redcurrants with apple and vanilla fudge. On the palate, sweet raspberries are followed by orange segments and rich milk chocolate. The finish is long, with blackcurrants and spice.
