This is a 14-year-old Aultmore, a Speyside single malt bottled by Thompson Brothers at 48.5% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and matured in rye whisky and oloroso sherry casks.
Most of Aultmore's production goes into blends, chiefly Dewar's, because the distillery belongs to John Dewar & Sons.
Gentle cinnamon spice and mellow lemon meringue pie lead the nose. The palate brings orange marmalade, orchard fruits, brown sugar and cinnamon, and the long, sweet, warming finish carries on with baking spices.
