Aultmore 15 Year Old Ruby Marsala Cask Finish (70cl, 46%)

This is a 15 year old Speyside single malt from Aultmore Distillery in Keith, issued as a limited edition in a 70cl bottle at 46%. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The whisky spent 15 years in American oak refill hogsheads, then six months in Marsala Rubino Dolce casks, which held a ruby Marsala made from red grapes. The nose brings ripe cherries, plums and summer berries alongside grassy, herbal notes, with gentle sweetness and a little spice. On the palate come cherries, plums and pomegranate, bright and tangy. The finish is fruity, with lingering red fruit, soft tannins and light spice.
