Balblair 16 Year Old is a Highland single malt distilled in 2007 and matured in a first-fill bourbon barrel. It is a single cask bottling in the Foundations range. Balblair was founded in 1790 and is among the oldest working distilleries in Scotland.
The whisky is a bright gold in colour.
Grapefruit and vanilla open the nose, moving to juicy pear and clove, with malted barley appearing after some time in the glass. The palate has vanilla, malted barley and pear, then pineapple, coconut, cinnamon and cumin. The finish is long and creamy, with chocolate, grapefruit, acacia honey and candied pear.
