This is a 32 year old Highland single malt from Balblair, distilled on 1 October 1990 and bottled on 28 November 2022 by Gordon & MacPhail for its Connoisseurs Choice range.
It matured in a single refill sherry butt, cask 4169, and was bottled at a cask strength of 58.2%. Batch 23/013 yielded 114 bottles. The whisky is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The nose offers stewed raisins, Medjool dates and soft aniseed, followed by fresh ginger, orange peel and aged leather. On the palate, white pepper keeps autumn spices and fruit cake in balance, alongside blackcurrant, roasted coffee beans and charred oak. The finish is full and long, with citrus fruit and plum skin.
