Balblair – 5 Year Old Pure Malt, 1980s

This is a Balblair 5 Year Old bottled under the Pure Malt name in the 1980s. Balblair is a Highland distillery, and the five-year age statement marks the youngest whisky in the bottle. Pure Malt was a term often used in earlier decades for a vatted malt, a blend of single malts from different distilleries, before modern single malt labelling became usual. It is classed as a blended malt.
