This is a 31 year old single malt from Balblair in the Highlands, distilled in 1993 and bottled on 29 August 2024 by Gordon & MacPhail as part of its Connoisseurs Choice series. It matured in a first fill sherry puncheon, cask 1961, and was bottled at a natural cask strength of 49.5%. Batch 24/020 produced 549 bottles. The whisky is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. Roasted coffee beans come first on the nose, then vanilla fudge, sultanas and figs, with light liquorice moving into cinnamon and oak. The palate is soft and sweet, with dark chocolate, light fruit cake, roasted hazelnuts and Seville orange. The finish is full and balanced, leaving a fine note of pepper.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
