Balblair Vintage 1983 1st Release is a single malt Scotch bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It spent three decades maturing, with American oak shaping its sweeter side.
The nose is warm and sweet, with toffee, caramel and vanilla, alongside fresh citrus, green banana, floral touches and a faintly waxy background. The palate opens sweet and spicy, with liquid honey, apples, apricots, cinnamon, chocolate and fudge, in an oily, creamy texture.
The finish is very long, warm and full-bodied, with creamy caramel and a lasting peppery spice from the wood.
