Ballechin 10 Year Old is the heavily peated single malt from the Edradour distillery in the Highlands. The malt is peated to a phenol level of at least 50ppm, and the whisky is bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
It matures mainly in ex-bourbon casks, with a share of ex-oloroso sherry casks added. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The nose offers strong peat smoke, vanilla, malt, citrus and dark fruit. The palate is smoky and full-bodied, with sweet malt, oak, spice and sherry fruit. The finish is long, dry and smoky, with spicy oak.
