Second-fill Marsala hogshead
Ballechin is the heavily peated single malt made at Edradour, and this bottle is an 11 year old from the Antipodes collection. It was distilled on 1 October 2010 and matured in a single second-fill Marsala hogshead before being bottled in August 2022 at 60% abv, in a 70cl bottle. One of 285 bottles. The malt is peated to 50 ppm, and the cask, which previously held Sicilian wine, shapes its character. Tasting notes describe powerful peat, with honeyed, floral, jammy and exotic notes appearing whenever the smoke loosens its grip.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
