This Ballechin is an 11 year old heavily peated single malt from the Highlands, part of the Antipodes collection. It was distilled on 1 October 2010 at Edradour, matured in a single second-fill ex-Marsala hogshead and bottled on 20 August 2022 at 60% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Only 285 bottles were filled.
The malt is peated to 50 ppm, and the Marsala cask shows in honeyed, floral, jammy and exotic notes that appear whenever the powerful peat loosens its grip.
