Ballechin 13 Year Old is a heavily peated single malt from Edradour in the Highlands. This is Batch 1 of the cask strength edition, bottled at 54.9% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky matured for 13 years in a combination of ex-bourbon and oloroso sherry casks, and it is bottled at natural cask strength.
The nose offers bonfire oak, gooseberries, plums and heather honey. Smoke takes over the palate, alongside orange zest, bitter chocolate, dried fruits and wood spice.
