Ballechin 15 Year Old 2004/2020 Port Cask #196 (54.7%)

This is a single cask Ballechin, distilled in 2004 and bottled in 2020 at 15 years old and at cask strength. Ballechin is the peated Highland malt made by Edradour, produced from barley malted to at least 50 ppm of smoke. It matured entirely in a Port cask, a fully Port-seasoned rather than a finished style, and has a slightly reddish gold colour. The character is strong smoke alongside sweet dried fruit, with marzipan and notes of wood and hay underneath.
