This is a 17-year-old Highland single malt from Ballechin, the peated range from Edradour, distilled in 2005 and bottled in 2023. It is bottled at 53.5% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
Ballechin is made from malt dried to a smoke level of at least 50 ppm. Here the whisky matured for the full 17 years in Burgundy wine casks, with no other maturation.
Smoke, intense fruit and a gentle sweetness are said to come together in the glass.
