Ballechin is the heavily peated malt made at Edradour in the Highlands. This is the 18 year old Cask Strength Batch No. 2, bottled at 57.8% in a 70cl bottle. It matured for 18 years in a combination of Oloroso and bourbon casks, and it is non-chill-filtered with no added colour. The nose is described as smoky wood, dark fruit and spicy oak, with vanilla and dried fruit from the sherry casks. On the palate come peat smoke, toasted oak, dark berries and spice alongside sweet sherry, caramel and vanilla. The finish is long, warm and smoky, with peat, spice and dark chocolate.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
