Ballechin is the heavily peated single malt made at the Edradour distillery in the Highlands, here at 18 years old. The malt is peated to at least 50ppm with Highland peat. This is the second small batch release of the 18 year old, matured in a combination of sherry and bourbon casks and released in September 2024. It is non-chill-filtered, of natural colour and bottled at a cask strength of 57.8%. Intense peat smoke and spicy oak lead the nose, with fresh malt sweets and ripe dark fruits. On the palate, peat and malt meet plums, cherries, chocolate and toffee, and the long finish brings peat, oak and barley malt.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
